    Invader was very bright and thin The Chinese copy sound similar but a little thicker than the Duncan. I kinda think the hammerhead sounded best, yet they all sounded very similar, but the Duncan sounds thin and brighter to me, maybe more definition, but that may be due to the bright thin tone it produces

    💯 % dead on. Evil Elvis made something that wasn't liked but kept a core audience. Ashes, See all You Were, Come to Silver, had more than potential and were indeed the gems of the record. Glenn has made it hard to like some of the music out there, but he almost makes satire out of popular music without trying. He exposes the bullshit and cuts to the marrow. The core fans like that, and no matter how bald he's going, the true fans will still buy the tickets. 🤘

    UM ACKTUALLY 🤓 The fretboard is Richlite made from post-consumer recycled paper. Sheets of paper are stacked up and saturated with a phenolic resin, then heat and pressure are applied. The resin then thermosets permanently with zero off-gassing. First used in 1943, the U.S. military made drop boxes out of Richlite. Because these boxes were dropped from supply planes, they needed to be durable and waterproof. After World War II, Richlite was used for industrial applications at Boeing Airlines. Because of Richlite's durability and the way that it machines just like metal, Boeing has used Richlite for machine parts on their airplanes. Later on the material was used for skate ramps due to its smooth, flexible makeup. Richlite has become a popular option for interior and exterior architectural surfaces and furniture. The durable, waterproof material is perfect for exterior cladding and rainscreens, but is also aesthetically pleasing enough for interior wall paneling, countertops and cabinetry.

      No wonder it sounds so fake and un-musical! Could've fooled me as I thought it was some maple variant. Speaking of being fooled, here are some of my favourites sayings and proverbs about fooling people and being fooled. 1. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." 2. "There's a sucker born every minute." 3. "A fool and his money are soon parted." 4. "You can't cheat an honest man." 5. "All that glitters is not gold." 6. "Once bitten, twice shy." 7. "Appearances can be deceiving." 8. "Don't judge a book by its cover." 9. "Deceit wears a mask, and so does the deceiver." 10. "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

    Finally a video of someone actually playing metal with these pickups that isn’t playing some drop C nu-metal trash. I’ve been looking for a good demo video of these pickups as I’m doing a new build and I haven’t bought pickups in nearly 20 years. I wanna play classics like W.A.S.P. and Judas Priest but all these videos demoing these old school pickups are guys playing this overproduced digitally compressed heavily drop tuned Korn sounding garbage. This may be a bit of a silly question ( I'm a musician, but not as familiar with guitar )... But is the difference in a hot rail vs. cool rail pickup in the output volume?

    • @DaveViner
      @DaveViner 3 месяца назад

      Not at all. Yeah, the Hot Rails is higher output, so it pushes the pre-amp a little harder, which people like to high gain and crunch sounds. The Cool Rails is lower output, so it doesn't push the pre-amp as much, so it's a bit better for cleaner sounds or lower gain sounds. I like the Cool Rails a bit more than the Hot Rails personally, but they're both great pickups for giving a strat style guitar a humbucker-esque tone

    They lost me at step one. I saw them in Sacramento in 93 or 94 and they came on stage talking some nonsense about how they were punk rock revivalists and they were gonna bring it back from the dead. I remember the whole room went quiet as we all looked at each other and had the same thought... "The scene's bigger than ever, what the hell is this idiot talking about with his long hair" lol. Eh whatever, it was mid music for edgey normies.

    I came in to listening to Danzig's first album then his third then Lucifuge and the 4p album all within a short order of time before 666 Satan's Child was issued. So upon the 2002 release of Blackaciddevil I grabbed it along with the Samhain stuff. I think the og release was "2" songs fewer than the newer and maybe it came off as, abruptly, ending too soon? It does seem as though he was trying to capitalize on that 'current' popular sound. The reissue version gives it better pacing so I'm glad that was my first 'listen'. The album feels very personal and intimate to me. I cannot think of another album with this kind of showcasing of vulnerability. It's somewhere in my top six. I would place it, probably, equal to Circle of Snakes only because I like concept albums. In some ways I would say that Deth Red Sabaoth with its dirty 70s sound should fit in-between Danzig 4 + 5. So I think that's, mostly, where you can find he's been given a pass at this point is because (over time) he always levels it out..even if it took him 15 years to cover the gap he was able to put in perspective for the span of his entire catelog. And Eerie Von has stated that Danzig 4p is a Samhain record. Danzig, likewise, has stated Eerie was the only one who understood what they were doing during that time of recording. Danzig gets it done. No one moves like him.

    • @DaveViner
      @DaveViner 3 месяца назад

      I love 4p. it's one of my favourite records in general. I have grown fonder of 5 as the years have gone on, but it is still my 2nd last (Black Laden Crown takes bottom place for me personally). Don't get me wrong I like a bunch of songs from 5, and im not a classic line-up elitist ( a lot of my favourite tracks are later ones Without Light, I Am, The Coldest Sun, 1000 Devils Reign, Pull The Sun, Five Finger Crawl etc etc) but 5 is still one of the harder listens. I love hearing people opinions on it though!

    • @knocknockearth
      @knocknockearth 3 месяца назад

      @@DaveViner Yeah yeah you, absolutely need to be in groove to fall into wanting to hear it. It took me awhile to find that, also. That's why I thought it compared like Circle of Snakes. There's a certain sludgyness that you would be after. It's not a casual listening sit through. I edit my above post. Meant to say the 2002 release plays better than the OG.

    • @DaveViner

      @knocknockearth Yeah, I hear you, I like Circle of Snakes. The whole album is solid imo. I didn't even notice the original typo! My first experience with 5 was the 2002 reissue, I have the original release but haven't sat and listened to either all the way through in years.

    Think its more the cheap blocks after a few years degrade and break, a titanium, steel and brass will last longer than your self, if there is change (only slightly) its more in the sustain and harmonics I think, im of the school of Glenn Fricker if you want to change tone on an electric guitar then change your cab speakers....but thats just my opinion, if i do change the block on some of my guitars i use the brass and i tend to use brass saddles too

Great bands evolve and change things up, and Danzig did just that. 7th House is extremely heavy. Black Acid Devi, See All You Were, Hand of Doom, and Power of Darkness are great songs. Because that’s the biggest draw for me anyway. His voice is fantastic. However some years removed from it and also getting some new albums where it was more of a return to form. I have gone back and listened to Danzig 5 and not hated it. It has its own energy to it that I can get into.
